Neither I, nor Sean were raised vegetarians. We grew up in contentedly carnivorous homes. We have no strong religious or economic or ethical beliefs that say we should not meat. We have simply come to the realization that we really enjoy vegetarian foods and we would be a lot healthier if we moved our lives that direction. That said, we are keeping in the mostly because we can't bring ourselves to give up everything. Sean still wants to be able to eat a burger from time to time and I still want hot wings. We also don't expect our friends and families to change their cooking and eating habits to accommodate us. Thus, we are striving to become vegetarians who eat meat about once a week. In that way, our bodies stay adjusted to processing meat, and we have some flexibility in dining choices.
All that being said, a lot of this blog will be dedicated to food. Food pictures from when we cook or eat out, recipes we find and love, problems and solutions to living vegetarian, lots of food.
In addition to talking a lot about vegetarian foods, we will occasionally wander into the side territories of kosher foods and diabetic/heart-healthy foods because of our family backgrounds. Everything will be tagged accordingly and we'll try to keep things organized.
