One of the bride's biggest concerns toward this rather impromptu move into vegetarianism is getting enough protein. Mostly because I know I probably don't get enough now as a meat-eater.
Adult females ought to get 46 grams a day while adult males should get 56 grams.
For reference, a serving size of meat gives you about 21 grams, a cup of milk about 8.
So, this will be an updating post as I discover new things containing protein.
Milk - 8grams per cup
Cheese - 8 grams per ounce
Eggs - 8 grams per egg
Yogurt - 11 grams
Chewy Bars - 2 grams
Whole grain tortilla chips - 2 grams
Beans - 16 grams (for 1 cup dry)
Soy products - 5-15 grams
Nuts - 5-8grams
Peanut butter - 7grams
Clearly I will need to work harder to get the nutrients I need.
